Born Melbourne, Victoria. Daughter of Esther née NATHAN & Woolf Barnett ISAACS, of London, England. Enlisted with AIF in the Australian Army Nursing Service, 1914. Served at Base Hospital, St Kilda Road, Melbourne, for one year, and at Osborne House, Geelong. 1915-16: Embarked on SS "Mooltan” for Active Service in India. Served with the British Expeditionary Forces at the War Hospital, Secunderabad, and at Trimulgherry Stationary Hospital and at the Deccan War Hospital, Kirkee, Poona, for one year. Volunteered for service in Salonica: served at Victoria War Hospital, Alexandria, Egypt, whilst awaiting transport to Salonica. 1917-18: Appointed as Charge Sister. Served at War Hospital at Hortiac; also at 42nd and 52nd War Hospitals, Kalamaria, Salonica, for one year. Invalided home to Australia in SS "Wiltshire,” November, 1918. Since then keenly interested in all social welfare work for women and children. Member of the National Council of Women, Vigilant Society, AWN League (St Kilda Branch); Life Governor, Austin Hospital.
