Born 28/11/1896 Airlie Street, South Yarra, Victoria. Son of Theodore FINK & Kate née ISAACS. Husband of Mrs Louisa Jean Fink née GILCHRIST 271 Domain Road, South Yarra. Captain Thorold Fink, 45, of Domain Road, South Yarra, was fatally injured when the jeep car he was driving on Geelong Road near Werribee overturned on Saturday. Captain Fink, who was a director of The Herald and Weekly Times Ltd, was the youngest son of the late Mr Theodore Fink, former chairman of directors of The Herald and Weekly Times Ltd, who died in April last. He served with the AIF in the last war, was twice wounded, and afterwards took an active part in the affairs of the Returned Soldiers' League. In the present war he was serving on the Fighting Vehicles Headquarters Staff. He was an old boy of Melbourne Grammar School and a graduate in law of Melbourne University. During the last few years he took a leading part in the establishment of the newsprint industry at Boyer, Tasmania, in the interests of which he paid three visits to America. He is survived by his wife. He had two brothers, Mr Roland Fink and the late Mr Gordon Fink, and two sisters, Mrs R D Elliott and Mrs W M Timmins. Source: Obituaries Australia.
