Notes
His name is on the Historic Obelisk in Melbourne General Cemetery, however he was not Jewish. Theodor stated that he was Lutheran. There is a cross on his gravestone with the inscription requested by his father, Mr Gustav Lambahirt, Langaste Sagnitz, Esthonia, Via Reval: 1973 PRIVATE T. H. LAMBAHIRT 5th BN, Australian Inf., 7 August 1915, age 21, St. John 14. V. 28. Parents: Gustav and Marie LAMBAHIRT, Sagnitz, Esthonia. He had a Testament in his possessions. Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstone schedules document states that there is to be a cross on the headstone. Rabbi’s decision: Ruled to not be Jewish and therefore not to be on the list for future memorials.
