Born 30 June 1888 Reg No 33656 St Kilda, Victoria. Son of Samuel Gabriel PIRANI and Sara Susie née FRANKEL 45 Mathoura Road, Toorak, Victoria. Cousin: 3924 PTE Ernest John PIRANI KIA (not Jewish). Obituary notice: Mr. Carl Simeon Pirani, whose death at Perth, Western Australia, occurred last week, was the son of Mr. S. G. Pirani, of Melbourne. Mr. Pirani saw active service early in the war, and was invalided to Australia. He was educated at the Melbourne Grammar School, where he won the Witherby Scholar ship in 1902. On leaving school he entered the Melbourne University, and graduated Bachelor of Science in 1907. Subsequently he embarked upon wheat farming in Western Australia, in partnership, with Mr Gordon Fink, and both, enlisted. Mr Fink was killed in action. On his return from the front Mr Pirani went back to his farm in Western Australia. Jewish Herald (Vic), 3 May 1918, p 12.
