Notes
Born 1889 Reg No 12108 89 Kerr Street, Fitzroy North, Victoria. Son of Marks NYMAN and Flora née MARKS. Brothers: 297 & 7021 PTE Abraham NYMAN KIA 11 September 1918 France; 3104 PTE George NYEMAN born 1881 Reg No 23396 returned; 5400 PTE Solomon NYMAN born 1880 Reg No 15668, returned. Note: There are variations of the spelling of their surname. When his parents married, his father’s name is “Nyemen”. Seven of the children’s surnames are recorded as “Nyman” and Nathan and Emanuel as “Nyeman”. The Melbourne Chevra Kadisha has his parents as “Nyeman” so I have followed this example and used this spelling for the Memorial.
