Notes
Born 1890 Reg No 22747 Fitzroy, Victoria. Son of Marks NYMAN and Flora née MARKS. Brothers: 3882 PTE Charles NYEMAN KIA 18 August 1916 France; 3104 PTE George NYEMAN born 1881 Reg No 23396 returned; 5400 PTE Solomon NYMAN born 1880 Reg No 15668, returned. Note: There are variations of the spelling of their surname. When his parents married, his father’s name was “Nyemen”. Seven of the children’s surnames are recorded as “Nyman” and Nathan and Emanuel as “Nyeman”. The Melbourne Chevra Kadisha has his parents as “Nyeman” so I have followed this example and used this spelling for the Memorial.
